We have assembled a team of astute, young, and dynamic professionals led by a management team with advisory and investment banking experience collectively in excess of 100 years originating and executing some of the biggest and most prestigious transactions in our markets.
Our governance structure has a five-member Board of Directors who provide strategic direction to our management team led by two of Ghana’s best investment banking brains.
MICHAEL N.A. COBBLAH - CEO
Mike is the Chief Executive Officer at C-NERGY and a Director of the Firm with over 25 years of professional experience. He has led the team since its inception and managed several government and private-sector transactions worth collectively in excess of US$10 billion. His key strengths are in deal origination, negotiation, and execution.
Prior to co-founding C-NERGY, Mike was Country Representative for Ecobank Capital where for 8 years he was responsible for the total investment banking business of the Group covering brokerage, asset management, and corporate finance across Anglophone West Africa. He previously worked in various capacities with PwC, Merchant Bank Ghana Ltd (UMB), and the Ministry of Finance.
Mike has served on several Boards including the Ghana Stock Exchange Council for two terms, chaired the Government of Ghana’s Bond Market Advisory Committee from 2012 to 2014, and on the Government’s PPP Advisory Committee. He is among the few honored professionals in the AIESEC Hall of Fame and the current Chairman of AIESEC In Ghana. He is also a Member of the Governing Board of the African Association of Consultants, Valuators, and Analysts (AACVA). Mike is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Vodafone Foundation in Ghana.
He holds an MBA from the University of Birmingham and a BSc (Administration) degree from the University of Ghana. He is a Certified Valuation Analyst of the International Association of Consultants, Valuators, and Analysts (IACVA), Toronto Canada.
NANA AMOTO MENSAH - Executive Director
Nana is a co-founder of C-NERGY with over 20 years of investment banking experience covering pension and investment consulting, asset management, research, business development and training.
Nana has led and also assisted in providing major investment banking services for both private and public corporates across sectors like telecoms, infrastructure, energy, real estate, aviation, commodities and finance across the sub-region. He has structured and obtained financing for restructuring, refinancing, acquisitions, management buyouts, expansion, and recapitalization with transaction value in excess of US$8 billion.
Prior to co-founding C-NERGY, Nana was the Head of Corporate Finance at Ecobank Capital for Anglophone West Africa (excluding Nigeria). Prior to joining Ecobank Capital, Nana was an Assistant Vice President at Boulders Advisors Limited an investment advisory firm.
He holds an MPhil (Economics) and a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Economics), both from the University of Ghana. He is a member of the International Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (IACVA).
EVELYN SENA KING - Lead, Coverage & International Business
Evelyn has over 8 years of investment banking experience covering financial services, oil and gas and renewable energy. She also has experience in developing and managing renewable energy projects for the European market from her previous role as Project and Operations Manager for Reliance Energy UK Limited.
Evelyn has assisted in delivering major investment banking assignments for both corporate and public sector institutions across infrastructure, energy, aviation, commodities and finance in the sub-region. She has been involved in the structuring financing and recapitalization of institutions and has executed transactions collectively in excess of US$ 3 billion.
Prior to joining C-NERGY, Evelyn was the Vice President (Finance Legal and Administration) at AIESEC and the African Regional Education Chair of the AIESEC International Finance and Legal Board. Key amongst her roles, were Finance & Project Management, Business Development, Partnership Management and Sustainable Financing.
Evelyn holds an MBA from Loughborough University and a Bachelor of Science Degree (Banking and Finance) from the University of Ghana. She is a member of the International Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (IACVA).
MAHAD AHMED - Consultant & UK Representative
Mahad is the founder and Managing Director of AME trade Ltd, a niche private Africa focused B2B events company headquartered in London, he has worked and travelled to over 40 countries across Africa.
Prior to founding AME he was Sales Manager for the Oil & Gas Africa Division, the Hyve Group Plc. Skilled in Negotiation, Market Research, Business Planning, International Sales, and Management. Strong business development professional with extensive network in the finance, infrastructure and natural resources sectors across Africa.
Mahad holds BA degree in Business from Middlesex University, and Masters in International Business from Birkbeck College, University of London.
FELICIA AKYAA OWUSU - Snr. Analyst
Felicia is in charge of the Real Estate, Natural Resources, Energy, and Transportation desk at C-NERGY. She provides research and structuring support for various transactions in these sectors for the firm.
She has deep and vast understanding and knowledge of the real estate industry having been involved in facility management and realtor roles prior to joining C-NERGY. Through her outstanding research capabilities and writing skills, Felicia has produced some of the best research reports in the real estate industry.
She holds a BSc. Business Administration degree from Ashesi University.
GERARD GYIMAH - Snr. Analyst
Gerard covers the firm’s Financial Services, Agriculture, and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) business. His expertise includes compiling industry and market-specific reports, investment analysis and financial modelling. Gerard has outstanding presentation skills and has produced several analyst reports in the Financial Services, Agriculture and FMCGs.
Prior to joining C-NERGY, Gerard worked in the banking industry for five years as a Relationship Manager, where he was actively involved in Business Development, Loan Origination, Project Appraisal and Customer Retention.
He holds a BSc. Degree in Banking and Finance from Central University. He is also a holder of the Ghana Securities Industry Certificate.
